SMART Conversations® : The Key to Effective Communications.
If you’re struggling about whether or not to have a difficult work or personal conversation and trying to determine the right words to say, SMART Conversations can help.
It can also help if you’re working with teams or clients where:
- Staff members are afraid of change and lack the relationship building skills needed to support change
- Turf battles are creating a “toxic” climate
- Staff members are “acting out” rather than “talking out” frustrations
- People avoid having difficult, but necessary conversations
Effective communication is the key. You, your clients or teams can enhance your performance by leveraging the power of dialogue. SMART Conversations® gives people a new way to have meaningful conversations, which:
- Focus on your intent and impact
- Consider all perspectives
- Respect differences
- Encourage full participation
The SMART Conversations® curriculum is built on the pioneering works of Stephen Covey’s “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”, Peter Senge’s “The Fifth Discipline”, Daniel Goleman’s “Emotional Intelligence” and David Bohm’s “On Dialogue.” This facilitated training is a foundational platform for creating a culture of collaboration.
NOTE: Everyone that attends should take 10 minutes to complete the attached Trigger Style questionnaire in advance and bring it with them.
You can always keep track of future meetings at www.nonprofitexecutives.org. We are eager to hear your feedback and comments. And PLEASE let others know about this group.
