Founded in 1995 by the historic Bridge Street AME Church, Bridge Street Development Corporation (“Bridge Street”) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to provide civic and economic opportunities to the residents and small businesses of Central Brooklyn, with an emphasis on low-to-moderate income individuals and families.
All of Bridge Street’s programs and activities are designed to promote and advance financial empowerment, social justice, and racial equity. We aim to empower Central Brooklyn by fostering economic growth, social equity, and community engagement, with a focus on uplifting underserved individuals, families, and small businesses.
Our vision is to preserve Bedford-Stuyvesant and the adjacent neighborhoods of central and eastern Brooklyn as desirable neighborhoods for raising families, owning businesses and taking part in rich cultural, spiritual and recreational opportunities.
