The Barre Center for Buddhist Studies (BCBS) is a mission-driven and community-supported 501(c)(3) educational non-profit organization located in Barre, Massachusetts. BCBS offers programs, residential & online, that support practitioners in cultivating wisdom, deepening practice, and building community. The organization has a healthy balance sheet and a new Executive Director that is bringing nonprofit best practices to the organization.
We are looking to add a Director who has knowledge & experience with non-profit finance. The expectation is the new Director would, after a few months, become the Treasurer of the Board. Ideally, this person would partner with the Board Chair (a CPA) and the Executive Director to support the rest of the board in understanding financial best practices.
The right person will have some type of connection to meditation or buddhist practices. Ideally, the person would have some experience working at nonprofit that has a campus that includes a kitchen, dormitories, and 90 acres of land.
The board meets virtually 3x per year and has a 3 day on-site retreat in October.
