Help children become leaders through sport

Empower ME Academy (EMA) is a San Francisco nonprofit that helps K–12 children build leadership skills through basketball. In our year-round programs, clinics, and competitive teams, children practice more than the game: they learn to communicate, work together, respond to setbacks, and lead with character.

We’re looking for board members who believe children deserve both a place to belong and people who will challenge them to grow. EMA offers a chance to bring your professional experience to a mission you can see in action—in the gym, in our relationships with families, and in the opportunities we create for children.

Board members can help EMA strengthen its financial future, build partnerships, expand access, and guide thoughtful growth. We welcome people who bring expertise in areas such as finance, fundraising, business strategy, real estate (particularly commercial leasing), marketing, along with the curiosity and commitment to be active partners in the work.

If you want your board service to have a direct connection to young people in San Francisco, we’d love to meet you.
