This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about GVP’s mission and purpose, is willing to commit time, effort and resources to these goals. Candidates must be passionate for GVP’s cause and possess qualities of dedication, integrity, honesty, and collegiality in stewarding the organization towards a common goal. Prior marketing and/or board experience is helpful but is not a requirement.

GVP is seeking Executive Committee candidates with proficiency in the following areas:

(1) Secretary/Clerk (2) Treasurer.

(3) Accounting Committee: Finance; and Nonprofit Fundraising. For Individual, Corporate, and Government Awards

(4) Board Development/Governing Committee (multiple).

Ad Hoc Committee areas:

       (1) Digital Marketing and Social Media Committee (multiple), (2) Advocacy and Policy Committee,

Members of the GVP Board serve a three to five-year term, which may be renewed for successive terms. Members are required to serve on at least one committee of the Board. Board meetings are generally held once a month, and committees meet at minimum quarterly. Minimum time commitment varies from 1-3 hours per week. Board Members are unpaid. GVP’s Board strives for 100% Board giving.

 The fundamental responsibilities of members of the Board of Directors include:

 Supporting and promoting GVP’s Mission and Purpose and protecting and enhancing GVP’s public

  1. Providing insight and expertise to inform program development and/or build organizational capacity, including serving on one or more board committees; as appropriate, working directly with GVP staff on related projects and issues.
  2. Overseeing and guiding the implementation of GVP’s organizational goals and programs, including the development of long-term strategic planning and
  3. Participating in securing adequate resources for GVP to fulfill its mission and purpose, including committing to make GVP a top philanthropic priority and attending in GVP fundraising events and activities (including GVP’s annual Fundraiser Fesitval).
  4. Supporting and evaluating the performance of GVP’s Executive
  5. Protecting GVP’s assets and providing financial oversight, including review and approval of an annual budget and ensuring adherence to the budget and other legal standards and ethical

Our Mission: Grandmothers’ Village Project is a nonprofit Intentional Community organization developed to house our BIPOC grandmothers/fathers in an environmentally safe and ecologically sound Grandmothers’ Village, in order to foster a healthy and sustainable environment; promote social, economic, environmental, housing, food, and spiritual justice, and strengthen democracy for our BIPOC  Elder Women/Grandmothers, and Grandfathers.

  • Provide and expand access to healthy affordable housing
    • Educate our community and raise awareness to elder BIPOC inequities.
    • Train professionals in the latest culturally appropriate innovative strategies and modalities in working with BIPOC elders of varied ethnicities.
    • Advocate for policies that promote equitable access to healthy organic foods and resources.

GVP is waiting for its 501(c) 3 designation and currently under Fiscal Sponsorship, and is the foremost advocate for BIPOC elder JEDI: Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
