Board Director – Mental Health Nonprofit

We’re currently in search of passionate and enthusiastic leaders who are eager to volunteer their time to influence the transformative path of our nonprofit. Director Expectations:
• Actively participating in board meetings, providing valuable insights.
• Reviewing materials ahead of meetings, prepared to contribute.
• Upholding confidentiality and disclosing any conflicts of interest.
• Advocating for the organization among stakeholders and the community.
• Collaborating on at least one committee/task force, attending meetings.
• Engaging in fundraising initiatives and fostering donor relationships.
• Advising the CEO on strategic direction and implementation.
• Assessing outcomes and metrics to enhance performance.
• Approving budgets, audit reports, and significant decisions.
• Assisting in identifying and recruiting potential Board Directors.

Philanthropy:
• GNMH Board Directors will consider GNMH a philanthropic priority and make annual gifts that reflect that priority. This Board support will provide GNMH what it needs to credibly solicit contributions from foundations, organizations, and individuals.
• GNMH expects to have 100% of Board Directors make an annual contribution that is commensurate with their capacity.

Board Terms/Participation:
• GNMH Board Directors are elected to serve a (3) year term. Directors will not serve more than (3) consecutive terms.
• Board meetings will be held monthly. As of now we meet 10 times a year.
• Committee/Taskforce meetings will be held monthly, or as needed and determined by the Board Chair and CEO.
• The average amount of time spent for Board Meetings, Committee Meetings, Preparation, and ancillary duties is approximately 4-8hrs a month.

Director Qualifications:
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a board capacity or related roles.
• Passion for mental health advocacy and a strong commitment to our mission.
• Expertise in areas relevant to nonprofit governance, strategy, or fundraising.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Understanding of fiduciary responsibilities and ethical decision-making.
• Proven ability to engage stakeholders and represent the organization.
• Willingness to actively contribute time, resources, and energy.
• Capacity to evaluate organizational performance and drive improvements.
• Prior experience in philanthropy and donor cultivation is a plus.
• Strong alignment with our values and dedication to community well-being.
• The following expertise is preferable however not necessarily required in: Finance, Philanthropy, Healthcare, Commercial Lending, and Legal
