Aloha. We are Hawaii Yoga Institute. Our primary offering is to provide yoga teacher trainings as a means of empowering students and faculty to embrace their own identities, learn from others, and challenge harmful stereotypes of who practices yoga, what yoga is represented as, and where/what are its roots. Specifically, we aim to include students and faculty members who represent a strong diversity of race, class, gender, size, physical ability, and spiritual tradition.
We are currently looking for board members who resonate with this effort and have experience in raising funding, whether that be through event coordination, grant writing, or soliciting donations. We are a small team and open to learning from others. We are grateful for your consideration.
